Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Citizenship
At Exeter a learning community we follow the SEAL scheme of work which is linked, as far as possible, to our topic. This aspect of the curriculum promotes responsible attitudes to each other and those around us. It encourages personal responsibility for actions, decisions and their outcomes in school and in their lives. Issues of health and safety are explored and children’s opinions are openly discussed and shared. Children are encouraged to tolerate the views of others and to voice disagreement in a constructive and respectful way. Children are made aware of health issues and their importance. They are introduced to the aspects of local government and the democratic system in the latter years of Key Stage 2.
